Virgil Scudder has worked as a communication coach and counselor to heads of major corporations for over 30 years, serving clients in more than two dozen countries of North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. He has headed his own firm, Virgil Scudder & Associates, since its founding in 1990, after leading the media training units of two of the world’s largest public relations firms, Carl Byoir & Associates and Hill & Knowlton. He was a senior vice president of both firms.
Prior to that, Scudder was an award-winning news broadcaster at major New York radio and television stations and networks, including WINS all-news radio, NBC News, and ABC News. During that period he also served for six years as a first-night Broadway drama critic, reviewing nearly 300 shows.
He frequently speaks and writes on communication issues and pens a column for each quarterly issue of The Public Relations Strategist, entitled “In the C-Suite.”
