Fran Lotery has more than 30 years of experience in family, economic, and emotional systems from her extensive experience working with professional firms, family enterprises, owners of closely held companies, and large non-profit institutions.

Beginning in 1996, and following in 2005 when she co-produced a groundbreaking conference on advancing women into C-level executive positions in business, Fran has continued to develop her understanding and thinking about the critical gender issues, challenges and development needs of next-generation leaders and stewards.

A Fellow of the Family Firm Institute, she is the co-author of Live Inside Out Not Upside Down (Bronze Publishing; 1996), a guidebook focused on teaching personal responsibility and accountability, which became a 1997 Small Press Book Award Finalist.  Fran has been an expert contributor on radio and television, a speaker at professional conferences, and an adjunct faculty member at Chapman University, the University of California at Los Angeles, and Antioch University in Santa Barbara.

Fran and her Relative Solutions colleague, Dr. Fredda Herz Brown, are co-authors of the Family Wealth Sustainability Toolkit – a groundbreaking online interactive assessment tool and companion manual, published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  The Toolkit is designed for wealthy families and their financial advisors to help them analyze the behaviors and knowledge that impact a family’s overall wealth, while also providing best practices needed for improvement.
